What prompted you to make a change?
I've always been self-conscious about my weight, and I constantly struggled with it for as long as I can remember. As I grew up, I began trying different diet fads. I did lose weight with them, but as soon as I started eating normally, I'd gain it all back with a few extra pounds. Last year, I went through some big life changes that contributed to me gaining about 25 pounds in 9 months. I felt AWFUL and didn't feel like me anymore. I tried all those fads again, but my weight didn't budge. It got to the point where I started skipping meals, logging in less than 500 calories a day, and binge eating whenever I didn't lose weight. I felt drained, frustrated, and unmotivated. This year, my new year's resolution focused on mending my relationship with food and giving my body the love that it deserves.
How has your life and health changed since working with OnPoint Nutrition?
After working with Kaitlyn for almost 6 months, I finally feel like my best self; I'm happier, confident, energized, and productive. I didn't realize that my poor eating habits were taking bites out of my entire life. Once I started eating healthier, I was able to finally focus and get my work done much faster than before.
Thanks to Kaitlyn, I found a new passion for health and wellness. I LOVE trying new products and drinks that are nutrient-rich and not starch dependent. Also, I love trying/creating healthy recipes and sharing them with my friends and family!
What would you tell someone who is thinking about working with OnPoint Nutrition?
Don't talk yourself out of getting a nutritionist! You will thank yourself in the future, trust me! OnPoint really helped me gain my confidence and happiness. They taught me how to eat in a way that is sustainable in the long term and kept me from trying stupid new diet fads.
What was the hardest part of your journey? How did get through it?
I struggled with finding a balance between healthy eating and splurging on decadent foods. When I first started, I wouldn't let myself eat so many things that I loved because I felt that they would not let me lose weight. Kaitlyn and I started putting game plans together for every time I wanted to eat out or eat something starch and fat heavy. This game plan involved us looking at the menu prior and looking at balanced dishes that sounded appetizing to me. Then, whatever that meal lacked, I would take it during the day. If I want to eat a burger and fries for dinner, I'll make sure to get in as much lean proteins and veggies in during the day so that I can ENJOY my dinner and NOT feel guilty!
